Belgrade, 18 December 2025
The Council of the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia
has adopted decisions granting approval to the Transmission System Development
Plan for the period 2025–2034 and the Investment Plan in the transmission
system for the period 2025–2027, adopted by the Joint Stock Company
“Elektromreža Srbije,” acting as the transmission system operator.
The Ten-year Transmission System Development Plan was
prepared in accordance with the Energy Law and the Energy Development Strategy
of the Republic of Serbia until 2040, with projections until 2050, as well as
with the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan.
The ten-year development plan also fulfills the obligation
prescribed by the law that, in its preparation, the transmission system
operator must take into account the regional investment plan, which forms a
part of the Pan-European Ten-Year Network Development Plan prepared by the
European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E).
The needs of the distribution system operator for the
construction of new facilities, the needs for connecting generation facilities
and customer facilities to the transmission system, as well as the needs for
reconstruction of the power network, were also used as a basis for planning the
development of the transmission system.
The three-year investment plan describes investment needs
from the national, regional, and European perspectives, the implementation of
which has a significant impact on increasing transmission capacities, enabling
the further development of the electricity market, improving the reliability of
the transmission system and security of supply for consumers, and increasing
the possibilities for connecting new sources of power production.
