Belgrade, 12 December 2025
On the session held on 11 December 2025, upon the request of
the Joint Stock Company “Elektromreža Srbije,” the transmission system
operator, the Council of the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia has
adopted decisions approving operational limitations for battery energy storage
facilities connecting to the transmission system.
The Energy Law stipulates that the transmission system
operator may offer a connection subject to operational limitations to an
applicant for connection, provided that such limitations are approved by the
Agency.
Pursuant to the Energy Law and in accordance with the
regulations adopted on the basis of that law, the Joint Stock Company
“Elektromreža Srbije” adopted the Rules for the Connection of Facilities to the
Transmission System, which regulate the technical conditions for connecting
facilities to the transmission system. The conditions for connecting a facility
to the transmission system are defined in a connection study prepared by the
transmission system operator. If the results of the study indicate the need for
operational limitations, they are defined as the method of connection with the
aim of eliminating congestion in the transmission system caused by the facility
for which the connection request has been submitted.
For each facility for which the need for operational
limitation was recognised, the transmission system operator submitted requests
to the Agency for their approval, on which the Council of the Agency adopted
decisions.
