AGENCY APPROVES NEW ELECTRICITY PRICES
Wednesday, August 31, 2016.
On the session held on August 31, 2016, the Council of the Agency has approved the decision of PE “Elektroprivreda Srbije” on electricity prices for households and small customers entitled to electricity at regulated prices.
Average price increase for all customers entitled to regulated price amounts to 3.8%. After this price increase, average price for all households, without taxes, excise and renewable energy sources fee amounts to 6.6 RSD/kWh. New prices will be applicable as of October 1, 2016.
The change in regulated supply prices is mostly due to acknowledged higher price at which PE EPS purchases electricity meant for household and small customers’ supply. Pursuant to the Energy Law, purchase, i.e. wholesale price is set on the basis of market trend and it is still lower than the one on relevant power exchanges.
Transmission and distribution use-of-system charges have not been amended. The charges approved by the Agency in 2013, i.e. in February 2016 are still applicable.
Customers entitled to electricity at regulated prices, i.e. households and small customers with consumption of less than 30,000 kWh consume around 62% of total electricity sold to final customers in Serbia. Other customers purchase electricity at market prices from a supplier they select themselves. They are still supplied at prices they contracted previously.
