FINAL CUSTOMER’S RIGHT TO ACCESS TO DATA ON ELECTRICITY AND NATURAL GAS SELF-CONSUMPTION
Thursday, July 28, 2016.
On July 27, in line with the Energy Law, the Council of the Energy Agency has adopted Decision on Exercising Right of Final Customer to Access to Data on Electricity and Natural Gas Self-Consumption. The Decision becomes ruling at the latest as of January 31, 2017 when conditions are created for natural gas customers to exercise this right as well.
The Decision prescribes the procedure, consumption data type provided by the system operator upon a final customer’s request and the data template. In addition, the data may also be submitted to a supplier which is not supplying the customer if the request indicates that.
Final customers are now entitled to demand consumption data presented in a unique form on a prescribed template for the period of last 24 months. Above all, customers may use these data in order to select a supplier in the market which, based on exact metering data and other consumption data given in the prescribed template should make a more precise supply offer. Based on presented consumption data, the customer will be in a position to compare suppliers’ offers and select the most favourable one.
This Decision is not applicable to final customers and current suppliers which have already been given access to the data via consumption data base administered by the system operator in line with the Network Code.
